Application Guidelines

These guidelines have been developed to assist organizations and or individuals in the development of an application for a grant. If you are unsure if your organization or project is eligible for funding from the Sisters of Charity Foundation contact the Foundation before beginning your application.

  1. Applications must be made using the Application Form (PDF or WORD) available on this website.
  2. All sections must be completed.
  3. Please be as concise as possible by limiting information to the spaces provided in the available text boxes.
  4. Demonstrate a clear well-defined project with clear goals, objectives and measurable outcomes, and explain how they will be evaluated.
  5. Explain how the need for the project was established.
  6. Provide a specific timeline for implementation.
  7. Indicate who is expected to benefit or is benefiting most from the program and how it will impact on the wider community.
  8. Explain how this program is in keeping with the mission of the Sisters of Charity.
  9. Describe the background and qualifications of the applicant organisation to implement the program and provide ongoing management of the program. Evidence of sound financial management is required.
  10. If the program relates to building or premises please give details of ownership, leasing arrangements and the applicant’s role in the management structure.
  11. Provide important budget details including:
    • A breakdown of how the grant will be used.
    • If the grant is not funding the whole program, indicate the source and status of supplementary funding.
    • If the program is ongoing, indicate how it will be sustained at the end of the funding period.
    • List previous grants received by your organization from the Sisters of Charity Foundation and what projects were funded within the last three years.
  12. Ensure all required attachments listed on the Application Form are enclosed with your application, in accordance with the tax status of your organization and the specifics of your program.
  13. Ensure attachments are bound with staples or clips only. Please do not enclose booklets or folders.
  14. Send only one copy of your application.
  15. Ensure your application reaches the Sisters of Charity Foundation by the due time and date.
