Post Placement Support Service
Post Placement Support Service Vic provides peer support groups to grandparents who are currently caring for their grandchild, relatives child or young person on a full time basis. This group of kinship carers are faced with multiple issues such as: the difficulty of raising a child at a late stage in their life, potential personal health problems due to ageing, the dynamics of managing complex familial relationships, financial constraints, as well as dealing with the possible legal proceedings and the developmental needs of their grandchild.
The Grandparent's Carer Support and Education Groups aim to provide a forum and safe place for participants to come together to articulate their concerns, disseminate pertinent information and share their common experiences in order to build confidence, and empower them in the important role of raising children who are kin.
