Terri – first in her family to attend university

Terri Carberry is a proud Aboriginal Wiradjuri woman from Griffith (NSW) whose dedication has inspired everyone in her family. She is the latest recipient of a Sisters of Charity Foundation tertiary scholarship. The scholarship is set up specifically for young people who have lived in long term out-of-home care, to achieve their potential through education. This will enable Terri to continue focusing on her three-year Bachelor of Nursing degree at Australian Catholic University without financial pressures.

Terri, who has been in foster care since she was three was the first in her extended family to complete her HSC and now the first to attend university. She is an inspiration to her five younger siblings who have been compelled by her success to continue their high school education and change their lives. Congratulations once again Terri.
